Brunch at Muharam Café

Brunch at Muharam Café

Located on one of the busiest intersections in Hawthorn, resides Muharam; a cute and cozy little cafe that could possibly go unnoticed if it wasn't for it's signature white picket fence.

We certainly couldn't go past it. Not after stumbling across images upon images of it's fluffy, thick, sugar dusted red velvet pancakes on the internet. No siree. Not JoJo and LiLi.

Man. Do you know how long JoJo has been pestering LiLi to go to this place? FOREVER.

Jo and LiLi have a deep set appreciation for all steamed buns and dumpling-like foods. It was only natural really - they've both grown up with a fondness for these far east carby treats. Jo's mum would whip up a batch of Siopao (Filipino baozi) every once in a while and, LiLi? Well, weekly Yum Cha visits with her dad would spark the lasting relationship.

This is not JoJo's and LiLi's first High Tea rodeo.

The greatest challenge that LiLi encountered during her time in Melbourne, was finding the right partner for all her food misadventures.

In Perth, she enjoyed the company of all of her dear friends at all types of soirées, JoJo being one of them. When she moved to Melbourne however *cue tiny violin*, she found herself suddenly alone. The prospect of frolicking in Melbourne's famous food paradise grew with each passing day. How would LiLi enjoy these delights in newfound Melbourne? Did her friends enjoy this pastime? Apparently it wasn't on anyone's agenda. Luckily, with old mate JoJo's arrival, she could finally fill in the gap left by that void.

Dinner at Suda

Suda was a happy accident - and a great one at that!

LiLi stumbled upon Suda when she was scanning Zomato trying to find a tapas restaurant on Hozier Lane. She was on a dinner date with a friend that wasn’t JoJo (oh dear, God forbid!) and it popped up on the sidebar luring her in. One click instantly changed her life: what was modern Korean tapas? Who even does this?

She was excited at the prospect of this food adventure and trekked from Flinders Station to Lonsdale St in the business end of town. It’s not easily seen from the street, so it took a wander down the side lane to find some random snail sign, which was home to this Korean restaurant.
